Looking back at my photos from last December gives me the shivers with the birds puffed up to stay warm and plenty of snow in the background.
This December is the opposite - temperatures way above normal and snowfall way below average to the point of being non-existent so far this season. Maybe this explains the lack of bird activity at my feeders as this year is drawing to a close.
I did get a nice visit the other day by a male pileated woodpecker.
He did give me a good photo opportunity by perching on my deck railing.
