Great Horned Owl on the Mississippi River Flyway Cam

Over the last few nights, there has been a Great Horned Owl showing up on the Mississippi River Flyway Cam. It is perched on a large dead tree that became driftwood in the river. During the daytime, the tree is a favorite spot for egrets and now at night a Great Horned is using it as a hunting perch.

You can see the owl’s eyes in the upper left hand corner where it has perched.
