Right now on the Mississippi River near La Crosse Wisconsin, birds are gathering in preparation for the fall migration. It is truly like a mini “Serengeti” for water birds with pelicans, sandhill cranes, gulls, egrets, herons and ducks. In late October the tundra swans will show up in masses to add more excitement.
