Morning Bird Song in a quiet Cove
Using a paddle board and the Merlin Sound ID app, I was able to record the morning bird chorus in this quiet cove on the Gunflint Trail. The first and last song in the audio below is the white-throated sparrow - the quintessential summer sparrow of the Canadian forest. Their song even sounds like Oh-sweet-Canada-Canada. These endearing sparrows are common in boreal forests during breeding season as well regular visitors to our bird feeders during the other seasons.
The second song on the audio is the Magnolia Warbler - a striking boreal warbler that inhabits much the same summer territory as the white-throateds.
